Miscellany Monday

1. First of all, Happy Halloween!! Does anyone have any plans for tonight? We are taking Gracie to our Main Street trick-or treating event in our town. She obviously won't be getting any candy, but I think she will like seeing the other costumes. And.. some of her "friends" are going, so I'm hoping to get a group pic!

2. We went to Hancock Fabric on Saturday after getting G's flu shot and she was a little charm until the last 10 minutes. She ran out of snacks and became a bear. She wasn't content in the front section of the cart, so I put her in the back. She went through the diaper bag looking for more snacks and threw everything else out of the basket. My little girl has a BIG personality!

3. We made a stop by Old Navy and I bought a couple of tank tops for about $17 for all. Score!! I bought this shirt in green, this shirt in navy and this shirt in grey. They are still having all clearance 30% off so go now to stock up! I didn't get anything for G because I had just bought a lot on-line a few weeks ago from there.

4. After shopping Gracie acted like she was starving (growth spurt maybe?) so I drove to the back of the parking lot to feed her. I could write a book about the placed I have fed that child.

5. My friend asked me to make her daughter's a dress similar to this one so I picked out some cute fabric and I think the dress will turn out pretty cute. I'll post pics when I'm done and maybe a tutorial if anyone is interested?

5. Saturday evening we made the rounds at the grandparent's houses to show off G in her little lamb costume. Everyone thought she was adorable. Of course. Sunday we just did the church/lunch/clean house gig and that pretty much concluded our weekend.

6. Last night I made Paula Deen's double chocolate gooey butter cake to take to work today. I'm pretty sure it will be delicious. And deadly. A little extra flavor never hurt anyone right?

Cutest Little Pumpkin in the Patch

Okay, so we didn't really go to a pumpkin patch, these were taken in our front yard, but still.. she is the cutest little pumpkin I know!

My niece Layla came over for a visit so she wanted in on the picture taking too!

I had envisioned her sitting in front of the pumpkins smiling up at me. However, when I sat her down, she started eating dirt. But I still think they turned out pretty cute!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! TGIF am I right?? I have a fun excited weekend ahead of cleaning house and taking G to the grandparents houses in her Halloween costume. Here is a list of some of my favorites from this week:

1. I read this post from one of my new favorite blogs . I just think it is so true for many of us and so beautifully written that I had to share with you.

2. Favorite quote pinned this week. {My Pinterest}

3. Favorite new outfit inspiration to make for Gracie

It's kind of the same structure of this dress that I made for a friend at church. Now only if I can figure out how to work the embroidery machine...?

4. Favorite scripture for this week:

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32

What are your favorites from this week?

Seriously? Thursday

1. I have an 8 month old on my hands. Seriously? My heart hurts that time is passing so quickly

2. Seriously? Will she not be the cutest little lamb ever?

3. I need to schedule Gracie's 9 month pictures but my photographer/friend is on maternity leave. Seriously? I'm thinking of just taking them myself. My mom has a Canon Rebel and I have photoshop elements. Surely I can't screw it up that bad right?? Does anyone have any tips for me?

4. It's seriously cold and rainy here today. I'm pretty sure I'm not getting out of my pajamas. We needed the rain though so I am grateful for it!

5. I have only had two date nights with my husband since G has been born. Two! In eight months! It is mostly my fault because I have bad momma separation anxiety, but seriously? Two! AND... one was our anniversary and one was my birthday. #imashamed.

6. I put G's new fall dress on her and set her in the yard by the bench and pumpkins to take cute pictures. And she would not cooperate and ate dirt the entire time. I did get some cute ones though that I will post soon.

7. We were supposed to go to the pumpkin patch today but like I mentioned above... cold and rainy. Ugh, seriously?

8. As much as I have complained in this post, I have seriously been blessed abundantly by the Good Lord with so much more than I deserve. Note to self that a positive post needs to follow.

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Ephesians 4:29

that's all..

WILW

1. I am loving that Black Friday ads are already out, found here. I love to see them before hand because I like to pre-plan what I will buy. But I also think half the fun is drinking coffee late Thursday night while going through the ads for the first time after eating Thanksgiving dinner. Am I the only weird one?

2. I am loving this chair that I think I will get Gracie for Christmas, personalized of course. It's just too cute to not get her. However, I wonder if I should get the baby one or the toddler one. She will be 10 months old and I want her to get good use out of it. Thoughts??
3. I am loving the burlap anniversary pillow. It is similar to the burlap pillows I made here.

4. I am cracking up at this "mini workout". I'm pretty sure I would just fall down dead after doing this: (click to enlarge)

5. I am loving this quatrefoil pattern rug. I might run by Garden Ridge after work today and see if it's in stock:

My Weekend in Pictures

Happy Monday! Isn't Monday just your favorite day of the week?? #sarcasmatitsfinest

I'm liking up with Carissa for my random pics!

I had a long busy weekend. As I wrote about earlier, one of my BFF's got married this weekend! She was absolutely stunning and the wedding was gorgeous! I will post pics soon. In the meantime, here are some other randoms from the weekend:

First of all, here is Gracie's Halloween costume. #cutestlittlelambiknow

Gracie's first trip to V-Nails. The ladies who work there took off with her the entire time

Here are some ruffle pants I made Gracie from jeans that were too short. I'm not really a fan of jeans on baby girls, I usually like something sweeter, but these ruffles make them girly!

Just being cute playing with the leaves

Wishing "aunt" Heather a happy wedding day.

I whipped up a little fall dress for G Sunday afternoon. I'm going to put a pumpkin on the front with her name monogrammed on the inside I think. I'm going to have her wear this to the pumpkin patch this week and on Thanksgiving.

New high chair cover, way cuter than the one it came with!

Gracie: 8 months

Gracie,

You are 8 months old tomorrow!! I just cannot believe how fast time flies. As excited as I am to watch you learn and grow every day, I am sad that every day that passes is one day that you are farther away from being a baby.

First of all, you are an absolute JOY!! Really, you are such a good baby! I think I got the side-eye when I brought you to the nail salon yesterday so I could get a pedicure, but you were just so good and happy that all the workers just took off with you! You were definitely the center of attention.

You have become quite the momma's girl and I just eat it up! You tolerate everyone, you love and are noticeably happy around people you know, you light up when daddy walks into the room, but if I'm around, you have your eyes on me the entire time and always reach for me.
Your other favorites right now include Daddy, Nina, Mimi, Aunt Ya-Ya {my sister}, and your cousin Layla.

Here are some things that are new this month:
* You love it when I sing to you. You just keep a huge smile on your face and just stare at me, it's the sweetest thing!

* You know how to eskimo kiss. You will rub your nose against mine and it's so sweet!

*You are in the big girl bath tub. You decided you were too big for that baby bath tub so now you're loose in the big tub. I stay very close to you, but you do great.

* You love being outside, it can calm you in an instant if you're upset.

* You are CRAWLING all over the place!! You started just after your 7 month birthday and now you crawl over to something, pull yourself up, and walk around it. You even do it one handed now. I'm pretty sure you'll be an early walker.

* You are so smiley and have developed a little flirty half smile. We are wrapped around your finger.

* You have started coughing in lieu of laughing when you think something is funny, haha. It's the oddest thing! You will smile and start fake coughing. You're such a ham!

* You love to be tickled.

*You get so excited and proud of yourself when you pull up on something that you pretty much start hyperventilating.

* You have learned how to "dance" and it's hilarious. I will take a video soon.

* You love to bounce and do it constantly no matter if you're sitting, standing, or being held. Especially when you're being held!

* You know how to shake your head "no". I wasn't for sure at first if you knew what it meant, but you only do it when we try to give you medicine, change your diaper, or put you down for a nap so I'm pretty sure you have a good idea of what it means!

Your schedule looks something like this:
Wake up around 6AM - {early riser!} and nurse
2 cubes of breakfast and a little oatmeal around 7:30
{sometimes catnap after that if we're in the car}
Nurse or bottle {3 or 4oz} at 9AM
nap around 9:30 {about an hour}
2 cubes of lunch at noon and nurse or bottle {4-6oz}
nap around 12:30 or 1 {about 2 hours}
nurse or bottle {3-4oz} around 3PM and then snacks
2 cubes of dinner around 5:30 or 6
nurse around 6 or 6:30
In bed around 7 or 7:30

The last couple of days you have been doing good on a 4 hour schedule and that changes your nap times, etc. so we will see how that goes.

I just took you to the doctor for a sinus infection and you weighed 16 1/2 pounds {10-25%} and are 24" long {0.5%} haha. You are so short and petite.

You wear mostly 6-9 month clothes, but sometimes I can still get you into 3-6 month, a size 2 diaper, and size 2 shoes although they are still pretty big on you.

You have been such a blessing to our family and I just feel it is so necessary to let you know the amount of love and joy you have brought all of us. I love you to the moon and back sweet girl!

Happy {seriously!} Thursday!!! I haven't participated in Seriously Thursday yet so I thought I would jump in this week! Head on over there and link up your post too if you have a bunch of random thoughts floating around in your head!

I seriously love being off on Thursdays!! The extra one day with Gracie gave me much more peace of mind about returning to work and I will be forever grateful that my employer let me go to a 4 day work week.

I seriously would much prefer a 2 or 3 day work week, but hey... I'll take what I can get =)

I usually work from home to make up the time and work I missed, but I seriously have a hard time concentrating at home. I will be working, then eye my sewing machine, and try to whip up something really quick, and that just never works out right so I seriously always have a bunch of half finished projects around my house.

I seriously am OBSESSED with The Vampire Diaries. Anyone???

Seriously, I just put my child down for a nap and she is screaming in her room. I'm sure she "accidentally" threw her pacifier out of the crib again...

Seriously... I just went in there and picked her up for a minute to move her to the other side of the crib and she laid her head down on my shoulder, patted my face for a minute, and went to sleep on me. MELTS.MY.HEART. She hasn't been like that in months...

Seriously... I will take my little nap-fighter any day of the week. Especially when she decides to be a little snuggle bunny =)

Seriously... I had my long weekend all planned out and yesterday all of the sudden I felt like crap! My stomach became "questionable" and i got all achy and feverish.. ugh!!! Luckily my momma brought me some vitamin c along with whatever else she thought would help and I'm feeling {almost} as good as new today! So much for my to-do list!

It's my Friday!

So today is my Friday and I couldn't be more excited!! I have off work every Thursday anyway, but this week I took off Friday too so that means a 4 day weekend for me!! I love spending extra time with Gracie. Y'all know I'm a list maker so I'm going to randomly list things for What I'm Loving Wednesday

This picture was for last week's Oklahoma State game, but I am loving my little cheerleader in her new outfit!

Also, I (almost) have a walker on my hands so I decided she would need new shoes. These are our latest purchases. Note: We also bought the silver shoes in gold as well:

One of my very best friends is getting married on Saturday and I am one of the MOH's. I am so excited to see this beautiful wedding, I just know she will be a beautiful bride!

I am loving the new embroidery machine my mom bought!! I have some projects up my sleeve!

I am NOT loving that I forgot my pump today for work!! I'm pretty sure my boobs are going to explode!!

I am LOVING this cool fall weather! I finally got to break out a sweater dress, leggings, and boots today. Although I'm pretty sure it will be 80 degrees later today...

So to make another list, and to hold myself accountable, here is a list of what I would like to accomplish on my days off:

* Finish laundry
* Box up Gracie's summer clothes and donate the ones I won't want to use again
* Put Gracie's swing and bouncer in the attic and hope I get to use them again one day :(
* Finish sewing her ruffle jeans (more on that later)
* Sew a dress for her to wear to a pumpkin patch and for Thanksgiving and possible monogram?
* Cook a few frozen meals for a friend who is due any day and maybe make a personalized onesie and burp cloth set to take over there as well.
* Try on MOH dress. Y'all I am terrified it won't fit and we will have to ghetto rig it! I can't believe I haven't tried it on since purchasing!
* Make hair appointment. I won't even go into how bad this is needed
* Finish painting picture frames for Master Bedroom (more on this later)
* WEDDING DAY!!!
* Get caught up on reading material for Sunday School Class
* Try to work from home a bit

So yeah, I've got a couple busy days ahead! I hope I can get at least 75% of this list completed! I will post pics of sewing projects/recipes/frames as soon as they are completed.
