New Mommy Must Haves

There are several of these lists floating around in the bloggy world, but I decided to make my own so that when we are ready for our next baby (years from now) I can look back and remember what I loved.

These are the specific items that made our life so much easier!

1. The Moby Wrap:  It's like being swaddled up with momma.  Can you imagine anything better? I have this olive green color pictured, but they have several different colors.  And there are also several different holds.  I just use one hold mainly.  It even has a hold for twins, amazing!  I do recommend that you watch a youtube video of proper use if you decide to buy.

2. A video monitor.  I honestly don't even know what kind we have, it was given to us by a friend.  Any kind will work really.  Ours is similar to this, it doesn't have a huge screen, but it's portable, has night vision, and it let's you know why the baby is flailing around in the cradle.  In my case it's always due to a lost paci.

3.  Summer Infant Slumber Buddies.  This thing is seriously amazing.  It has lights that project stars on the ceiling.  Gracie isn't old enough to enjoy that yet, but it also has several sounds to choose from.  I put it at the end of the cradle and play the white noise or ocean sounds and it gets her to sleep pronto and stops the flailing due to the lost paci.

4. Mylicon Drops! For us, these are a must have.  I just buy the generic version because it's the same thing and you get double the drops.  Makes my screaming-because-of-gas-pains baby stop almost instantly.  Eric and I joke that Gracie thinks it's dessert because we sometimes have to give it to her after every feeding and she really seems like the taste.

5. Cradle:  We have the Davinci cradle in white.  I really like that she sleeps in our room in something that is not atrocious to look at.  Before she was born, I said she would be in her own room by 2 months because momma and daddy need their room to themselves.  HA! I didn't even know anything.  I will be the mother who still has her child sleeping in the cradle next to my bed by her third birthday.  I kid. I kid.  But seriously, I don't see it happening before 6 months.

7. Fisher Price Vibrating Bouncer:  We have a bouncer and Fisher Price Little Lamb Swing.   And although she likes both, the bouncer is just so much easier to move around.  I put it in the bathroom when I need to take a shower, put it on the table when we're eating dinner.  This will probably be replaced with the bumbo soon, but since she's only 2 months old, that's still a while down the road.  Gracie loves the butterflies hanging from this one.  She loves the blue butterfly, in particular.  It's her favorite.

8. The Boppy: I LOVE the boppy.  It's definitely the most versatile thing we own.  I never actually used it for feeding because she was so small and it was just easier to hold her, but it makes an awesome little lounger for babies!  She likes to nap in it, and sit in the couch in between  momma and daddy.  I have even let her sleep in it at night a few times.  Before you start throwing flames at me, know that I did read the warning label telling me never to do that, but she was so congested and it just made her feel so much better!  And she was just fine!

I am by no means trying to sound like an experienced mother, I am far from it and still don't really know what I'm doing sometimes.  I just thought I would share a few things that have helped us along the way.

I'm sure there are things out there that I know nothing about yet.
What are your favorite baby things?
