Busy Girl!

I have been a very busy girl lately! Working, working out, shopping, cooking, cleaning, girl time, etc, I have hardly found time to craft lately! Last night was going to be craft catch up night, but I decided to join "Ladies Night" instead. And I'm glad I did! Myself, Doni, Heather, and Brittany all went to eat at Ted's and had the most amazing sangrias ever! I really needed that. Then, we went back to Doni's house and watched "The Hangover". It was a really fun night, thanks to Doni for hosting!

Today, luckily I have the most wonderful husband in the world who cleaned the house for me, and the most wonderful momma who came over to help me craft. Unfortunately, my cricut machine needs a new blade so I did not get done all of the projects on my to-do list. Actually, I will never be done with all the projects on my list because I keep adding insane things to the bottom of the list and give myself unreasonable deadlines. Keeps me on my toes I guess. However, I thought I would share with you some of the projects I completed today, with the help of my momma (thanks mom!). I just listed these on Etsy today...

I made this sign for R's 13-year old daughter Courtney!

GO COWBOYS!!!! (Don't kill me Lisa)

Cute as a button!

I made this sign for my friend Erica for a bridal shower she recently attended. Please excuse the mess. Since I didn't actually put this on my Etsy shoppe, I didn't stage the background!

Designer Crush

I have a confession. I have a crush, a designer crush, on Gerrie Bremmermann. She is AMAZING! I love her sense of style and how she uses antiques to dress up and simultaniously dress down a room. What do you think? I just know you all will agree :)

Saturday, January 2, 2010

I have been crafting and crafting and crafting all day (check out my etsy shop). I'm off to watch TV with my poor neglected husband (sorry honey) and hopefully I will make it an hour without passing out. In the meantime, I thought I would leave y'all with images sure to give you sweet dreams:

Happy New Year!!!!

1-2-10! Wow! It seems like everybody was in a Y2K panic just last year. It is so hard to believe that was 10 YEARS AGO! I feel like my life is flashing before my eyes and I am getting so old! Actually I will only be 25 this year, but I tend to be a tad melodramatic sometimes. Now enough of that. I have committed myself to not one, but three! New Years resolutions this year...

#1: Quit cussing. I never should have started it anyways and it's so un-ladylike and my momma gets so mad at me when I can't seem to watch my language around her. I blame my husband, he has the mouth of a sailor! So from now on, when you hear me say a dirty word, please fine me $0.25. Thanks.

#2: Getting organized. I consider myself a "type A" personality, but somehow, I can never stay organized for very long. I went to Walmart today and stocked up on a bunch of Rubbermaid containers to organize my closets. We will see how long that lasts.

#3: Start a blog! This actually corresponds with #2 (see above). Most of my friends and family know that I love to craft! I love to paint furniture, and frames, and signs and just jazz things up a bit. I had sooo much stuff in the house that it was taking over all of our closets. My husband finally made me do something about it so I decided to make these personalized signs and crafts for my friends for a small fee. I enjoy doing it, so what the heck. WELL THEN... I started hearing "oh my friend loves that and she wants one too" or "I want to order one for an anniversary present for so and so". So I decided to capitalize on this little hobby of mine. Hence the decorating blog and Etsy shop. And as long as it remains a hobby and not a pain in the rear, AND doesn't cut into my shopping or husband time I will hopefully keep it up. If only to stay organized and keep my house clutter free if nothing else! :)
